How huge is the Internet?

•December 11, 2009 • 1 Comment

Ok so this was sent to me on a blog the other day and I thought I would share it with you guys. I found it quite interesting so maybe you will too.

If you find that difficult to view you can find it here on their site :http://gizmodo.com/5422415/how-huge-is-the-internet-on-an-average-day

I don’t know about you guys but all that I seem to come across lately has been flash sites. I was sitting online tonight (procrastinating from studying for my finals of course) and a friend told me about this site:

http://nobodyhere.com/justme/me.here

It’s definitely flash-based once again. It reminded me of that website Leanne showed us in class with the story and how you click a word to make a new part to the story. This is sort of the same idea. I’d be interested in doing something like this just for a giggle.

Oh and this is from the same site.. its an E-card on the site I think and it reminded me of Reeds flash project with the legos

Hope you enjoy it!

Serial Cut

OK so I can’t remember if I’ve shown this before but even if I have its definitely worth another view. I can’t seem to find the video of their “train pop up” but if you can some how find that, watch it. I think it could be done in flash but my ultimate guess is that it’s done in After Effects. But the train pop up is what got me when I saw their work. They are to the point and effective with their designs. I think you guys might just like it too.

Here’s a short video of their demo reel. If you don’t like the video at least it has some catchy tunes to go with it :

Another Flash site

Ok so I came across this site a long time ago and remembered it just recently. Again I think it’s an appropriate time to present it.

I know it’s a flash-based site and this group does a lot of flash sites and interactive media so I thought they were well worth the mention.

The layout is simple and clean and still captivating. In my opinion the flash side of it doesn’t seem to complex, but then again I think that simple is sometimes better.

Lego-ize yourself!

Ok maybe irrelevant to you but honestly i think these types of sites are really fun and cool. And lets be honest, most of the time they have to be cool and fun or else why on earth would any one visit them? So this one is a make yourself a lego character!  I thought it was fun and I made one of myself!

Make your own snowflake!!!

Ok so I figured, we’ve been learning interactivity lately and what better time to post some interactivity links thank now.

Being winter and getting into the christmas spirit and all right now I thought this site was really cute and appropriate.

I’d be really interested in seeing the action scripting for this project. It seems so simple but I’m sure it’s not. I really like it non the less, and hope you do too!

Interactivity

Here’s my interactive Flash site:

I was going for the “Mad Libs” style of “make your own story”. I think it worked out pretty good. I would have like to work a bit more on the visual design aspects of it but overall I think it worked out pretty well.

Hope you enjoy my final project.

Threadless

So I figure this probably isn’t the best place to post this but I find threadless to be an incredible website specifically for us designers. I’ve submitted a few designs and non have made it yet but I’m getting close. I just had another submission accepted today and it’s now up for voting. You should check it out and give it a score here and you can check out threadless at http://www.threadless.com/

Hope you like it. Enjoy!

Assignment 4 – Go Mobile

Here’s my Assignment 4 – Go Mobile webpage.

I’m not too keen on my site; however, I really like how the background works with the “QR Code” title. I think I could have worked harder on my actual layout and presentation of the whole webpage on a whole. Overall I think it works.

Enjoy 🙂
